Sankalp Se Siddhi -Youth Empowerment Programme for New India
Objective
- To make aware educate and motivate youth to involve themselves and others in the processes towards Clean India, Poverty Free India, Corruption Free India, Communalism, Casteism, etc
Duration : 1 day each
No. of Youth Clubs to be involved : 20 Youth Clubs per programme
No. of participants/Beneficiaries : 80 youth per programme from cluster of 20 Youth Clubs (four from each Youth Club)
No. of program : 02 per District
Level of the Program : Cluster of 20 villages
Time Line : July to October
Budget : Rs. 15,000/- per programme (for meeting out working lunch, resource persons, organizational expenses)
Collaborating Agency : Developmental Departments, Agencies, NGOs & Resource Persons
Focus Areas and Contents for coverage during the programme:
- Poverty Free India: Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojna, Self Help Groups (SHG) formation and link employment opportunities with emphasis on village, block and district based opportunities to check migration. Skills Development for self employment and employment generation among youth.
- Clean India : Hygiene and Sanitation - Swachh Bharat Mission, Hand wash, promoting construction of low cost toilets under Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan, Water management, harvesting, conservation, and Safe Drinking Water.
- Corruption Free India: Campaigns against corruption, women rights, legal literacy.
- Communalism and Casteism Free India: Spirit of Nationalism, proud to be Indian, respect for national symbols and values promoting national integration, communal harmony, universal brotherhood and national unity.
Implementation Strategy
- The District Youth Coordinators would identify the training providing agencies and or group of experts and resource persons who can impart training and develop/adapt/provide IEC material and or guide and help in procuring the same on the topics and subjects mentioned in the above mentioned contents of the program and further improve in consultation with local experts. Also it can be mix of both these options for a meaningful and effective capacity building exercise.
- District Youth Coordinators would select the venue for organizing this programme where successful training activities could be undertaken. For example, venues where facilities like training infrastructure, teaching aid and equipments, electricity with power back up, water, sanitation and other facilities are available.
- Well in advance, the identified training agency and or the group of resource persons, training providers would be briefed about the objectives, expectations of this program and its outcome.
- It would be ensured that the trainers would have expertise in the subject and topic allotted to him/her and can link it up with their roles as leaders in development and empowerment of Youth and Village Communities.
Methodology
The approach of the program would be participatory. The following suggestive methodologies would be adopted while undertaking the Programmes:
- Ice Breaking exercise
- Lectures on the subjects by resource persons
- Open House Discussion and Question Answer Session
- Group discussion followed by Group Report writing and Presentation
Expected Outcome
- To have made aware, educated and motivated 99,680 members of Youth Clubs in to involve themselves and others in the processes towards Clean India, Poverty Free India, Corruption Free India, Communalism, Casteism, etc.
- Empowered rural youth in terms of knowledge and information on developmental schemes, facilities and programmes of Government, NGOs and other Developmental Agencies.
- Educated rural youth mobilized their peer and village communities and generated awareness about social and financial inclusion schemes of Central Govt. and District Administration.
